Things to see and do in Miami Playa

Most visitors to Miami Playa come for the beaches. Clean, sandy and sloping gently into the water, they are a big draw for families in particular. Miami Playa itself has a children’s park and throughout the peak season holidaymakers will find shops, bars, ice cream stands, trampolines and other beach activities. There are also a range of watersports available, for the more adventurous, or you can simply hire a sun lounger and relax.

It’s a great area for land activities too, with bikes available to hire and horse riding stables. There are plenty of coastal paths to explore on two wheels or by foot, offering views out over the ocean. You can also set up your fishing rod and catch your dinner along the coast or test your swing at one of the local golf courses.

Top attractions

If you fancy a change of scenery there are various other beaches around, often with a larger choice of shops and restaurants. Cambrils beach is a great place to spend the day and has a little port. Take a boat trip around the coast before heading back to enjoy cocktails during sunset. Another option is the resort of Salou, a busy town with a lively nightlife.

If you’re visiting with kids then it’s sure that at some point you’ll want to visit the Port Aventura theme park, a giant park that’s one of the most popular in Spain. Split into various themed zones, with rides for everyone from the baby to the grandparents, it’s a full day’s worth of entertainment that the children will love.

Best restaurants

As you’d expect in Miami Playa, seafood is often the dish of the day. And if you enjoy fish, you won’t go wrong with Rías Baixas seafood restaurant. Highly rated as one of the best places to eat fresh dishes, including paella and patatas bravas, it also does a great homemade chocolate pudding. If it’s a special night out you’re looking for, book a table at Restaurante Limonero, which offers a creative menu of very visually appealing dishes. As well as the first class local meals, diners can also enjoy burgers and pizza, both homemade.
