Visiting in September? La Minerva Festival, the biggest in Calella, takes place during this month and is a fun few days of dancing, concerts, fireworks and exhibitions. Day trips to Barcelona are an easy 30 minutes’ drive away, perfect for a day of shopping, dining and taking in all the sights of this beautiful city.
Calella beaches
Calella de la Costa has three beaches, all of which merge into one 3-km length of sand, called Garbi, Les Roques and Gran Playa. Gran Playa is the main beach, but all three have been awarded Blue Flag status. If you’re looking for somewhere a little quieter, Cala Treumal is 25 minutes away by car and is set in a beautiful pine-fringed bay.
When to go?
Calella is a great year-round destination but the best time to go, if you’re looking for hot weather, is during the months of July and August when temperatures peak at around 30ºC.
